Ladies of the Knight Watch Party at The Space

As part of our group’s monthly activities for Ladies of the Knight, an all-female fan group on Facebook comprised of nearly 15k ladies, we hold a watch party for members to attend with guests of their choice.  We rotate locations around Las Vegas routinely, and we’ve been offered some truly awesome venues over the nearly 6 years we’ve been a group!

The Space Las Vegas

Last night was the first time we were hosted at The Space, a venue owned by VGK In-Arena host Mark Shunock.  It is widely known in the city for hosting “Mondays Dark” – a Monday night extravaganza designed to raise $10k every time for a local charity/cause.  I’ve been to plenty of Monday’s Dark events before and they are a blast.  This was the first time I’ve seen the venue used in a different way, and I was beyond impressed!

First, they offered us the opportunity to have a handful of our small business vendors on site, selling their fun offerings. There was everything from beanies, hats and shirts, to home goods, holiday décor, accessories & so much more for diehard VGK fans to purchase!

Next, they set up the HUGE screen at the front of the stage with the game, which was a PERFECT way to experience it!  There were also a lot of good-sized screens in pretty much any room of the building you were in, including the vendor room and out in the lobby at the bar – so you truly never missed a moment.

Hockey Knights in Vegas Podcast

The party was co-hosted for us by Eddie Rivkin and Sarina Taylor of the Hockey Knights in Vegas Podcast.  They were fantastic emcees and pulled up chairs on the stage during both intermissions, offering trivia, stories, a Q&A with Mark Shunock, and lots of great VGK prizes, including the jersey right off Sarina’s back.  It was a Vegas Born 17 jersey that they will be getting signed by a few of the original misfits (who are still with us) for the winner.

Somethin' To Taco 'Bout Food Truck Las Vegas

The bar was stocked with everyone’s choice beverages, plus candy and popcorn.  A food truck called Somethin’ To Taco ‘Bout was parked in front of The Space; the service was FAST and efficient and their offerings were AMAZING – I’ve tried plenty of food trucks in the city and this one easily ranks in the top 5!

The plan is to host another party like this again, but fill the room with even more attendees. I truly believe once word of mouth from those who DID attend, plus the pics and videos of all the fun that was had, gets around, we’ll probably see triple the attendees at our next one there.  Stay tuned for a date – we’ve started working on party #2 there immediately – it was THAT sensational!  The Space is an ideal venue to watch a VGK game, plus have quality entertainment and interaction between periods!
